The present invention provides a method of treating nasopharyngeal cancer with a proteasome inhibitor of formula (7). The invention also provides a method of treating a patient with nasopharyngeal cancer based on elevated expression levels of NFkB, as measured by a H-score of the patients nasopharyngeal cancer tumor sample using a "NFkB p65 IHC assay. The invention also provides a method of determing whether to treat a patient with the compound of formula (/) based on the level of NFkB p65 in the patients nasopharyngeal cancer tumor sample.
