PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair having an automatic brake mechanism which has a simple and robust structure and is inexpensive and safe, and is easily post-fitted to a wheelchair not only during manufacturing but also in use.SOLUTION: A wheelchair is attached with an automatic brake mechanism which includes: two pairs of dogleg rotary brake rods 203-3 on the front side and the rear side of the wheelchair, each having a brake arm 203A having a brake member BS at the lower end, and a rotary operation arm 203B, and connecting the rotary operation arm 203B indirectly to a leaving/seating detection arm 201-1 to convert the elevating operation of the leaving/seating detection arm 201-1 into the rotary operation and spring mechanisms 202-1 and 202-2 for braking by the elevating operation of the leaving/seating detection arm 201-1, and the rotary operation of the rotary brake rods 203-3, and releasing the brake.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT【課題】新規製作時は勿論のこと、使用中の車椅子に容易に後付可能な簡単で堅牢な構造で安価で安全な自動ブレ-キ機構を有する車椅子を提供する。【解決手段】下端にブレーキ部材BSを有するブレーキアーム203A及び回転操作アーム203Bを有し、回転操作アーム203Bを離・着座検出アーム201-1に間接的に接続し、離・着座検出アーム201-1の昇降動作を回転動作に変換するへの字の回動式ブレーキロッド203-3を車椅子の前部側と後部側に二対設け、離・着座検出アーム201-1の昇降動作と回動式ブレーキロッド203-3の回動動作による制動とその解除を行うスプリング機構202-1,202-2を設けた自動ブレーキ機構を付設した。【選択図】図9
