The present invention relates to a non-woven fabric that is for an absorbent article and that includes a fiber layer containing thermoplastic resin fibers and a fiber layer containing thermoplastic resin fibers and cotton. The present invention provides a non-woven fabric for an absorbent article having excellent strength, flexibility, and liquid permeability with respect to body fluids such as urine and menstrual blood. The non-woven fabric (1) for an absorbent article comprises at least two fiber layers including: a first fiber layer (2) containing cotton (2a) and thermoplastic resin fibers (2b)； and a second fiber layer that is adjacent to at least one surface of the first fiber layer (2), that contains thermoplastic resin fibers (3a), and that does not contain cotton. The thermoplastic resin fibers (2b) included in the first fiber layer (2) have a smaller fiber diameter than the thermoplastic resin fibers (3a) included in the second fiber layer (3). The non-woven fabric (1) has a specific structure provided with a plurality of protrusions (4) and grooves (5).
