PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel that allows surely avoiding a backlash between component parts of a handle assembly when assembly is complete, without affecting the assembling property of the component parts.SOLUTION: In a fishing reel, a cylindrical member 35 and a handle arm 6 of a handle assembly 30 are formed with respective tapered cam faces 6a and 35e that are brought into surface contact with each other by an axial clamping force F produced by a threaded engagement between a handle shaft 31 and a connecting shaft 36.
