PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel which has a driving gear and a shaft member capable of being easily attached with each other, and can prevent the concentration of stress to attain a satisfactorily high fixing strength at a low cost.SOLUTION: The fishing reel 10 is provided with a line-winding drive mechanism 22 placed in a reel body 12, and the driving gear 28 of the driving mechanism is fixed to a handle shaft 26 supported by the reel body 12.
