PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw type handle assembly of a spinning reel, which can prevent the periaxial shaking of the connection pin of a handle arm, when folded down.SOLUTION: The handle assembly 1 to be connected to a master gear shaft 10 comprises a screw shaft 37, a handle arm 38, a connection pin 47, a handle grip 39, and a shaft collar member 49. The screw shaft is integrally rotatably connected to the inner circumferential portion of the master gear shaft. The handle arm has an arm portion 38a and a shaft connection portion 38b having a slit 38c formed at the base end of the arm portion in a direction crossing the longitudinal direction, and is connected to the screw shaft in a shaft connection portion in a state capable of being folded down. The connection pin penetrates the screw shaft in a direction crossing the slit. The handle grip is connected to the tip of the handle arm.
