PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for preparation capable of preparing a carbon dioxide preparation for external use that can be easily prepared in a short time without soiling clothes and the like and from which stronger beautification and medical efficacy can be obtained in a short period.SOLUTION: The composition for preparing the carbon dioxide preparation for external use essentially is composed of a water-soluble acid, a thickener and a water-soluble dispersing agent, wherein the thickener essentially is composed of a granular material mixed with the water-soluble acid and the water-soluble dispersing agent, a carbonate salt, water, a specific thickening agent and a polyalcohol, and a viscous composition mixed with the granular material when it is used. The water-soluble acid, the thickening agent and the water-soluble dispersing agent in the granular material are blended in a specific blending ratio, as well as the carbonate salt, water, the thickening agent in the viscous composition are blended in a specific blending ratio. In addition, the granular material and the viscous composition are brought to be used in a specific ratio.
