PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for preparing an external carbon dioxide agent having cosmetic and medical effects.SOLUTION: The composition comprises: a granular mixture containing a water-soluble acid, a thickener, and a water-soluble dispersant which is a different substance from the thickener as the essential components wherein the thickener is mixed with the water-soluble acid, and the water-soluble dispersant and a viscous composition containing a carbonic acid salt, water, and a thickener as the essential components which is to be mixed with the granular mixture before using.
