PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized lever drag reel suitable for operating a drag lever by a left thumb put around an upper face part of the reel and to improve operability of the drag lever, in a case where the lever drag reel is attached on the upper side of a fishing rod, and when a plurality of left fingers other than the thumb are put around the underside of the fishing rod and the left thumb is put around the upper face part of the reel while putting a left palm along a left side face of the reel so as to support the fishing rod while gripping the lever drag reel from the left side face, and a handle is operated by a right hand.SOLUTION: In a lever drag reel, a contact reduction part 80 is formed at a part between a thumb and an index finger when an operator puts a left hand along a left side face of the lever drag reel. The contact reduction part 80 is an inclined surface formed by slicing off an upper rear end part of the left side face of the lever drag reel towards a spool 15 side such that the slicing depth becomes gradually deeper towards an outer peripheral edge of the left side face. By this, a drag lever 14 becomes operable by the left thumb of the operator which is put along the left side face of the lever drag reel.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】釣竿の上側にレバードラグ式リールが取り付けられ、釣竿の下側に左手の親指以外の複数の指を回し、その左手の手のひらをリールの左側面に沿わせつつ左手の親指をリールの上面部に回し、レバードラグ式リールをその左側面から握持しつつ釣竿を支え右手でハンドル操作を行なう場合、リールの上面部に回した左手の親指によってドラグレバーを操作することに適する小型のレバードラグ式リールの提供と、その操作性の向上を図る。【解決手段】レバードラグ式リールの左側面に沿わせた操作者の左手の手のひら側の親指と人差指の間の箇所の当接軽減部80として、レバードラグ式リールの左側面の上後端部を左側面の外周縁に向かうに従って深くなるようにスプール15側へ向けて削ぎ落とした傾斜面とし、レバードラグ式リールの左側面に沿わせた操作者の左手の親指によってドラグレバー14を操作可能とする。【選択図】図1
