PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing electric reel in which a fishing rod and a reel body can be easily gripped with one hand, an operation member for adjusting motor output can be operated skillfully with a thumb of the hand, and sufficient gripping property can be exerted even when a large load is applied suddenly during the operation of the operation member.SOLUTION: A fishing electric reel comprises: a spool around which a fishing line is wound a drive motor for rotating the spool, which is provided in a reel body 5 an operation member 30 which adjusts output of the drive motor and is rotatable toward a substantially front and rear direction and a control case 15 which accommodates a control part for controlling the drive motor. The operation member 30 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape and is disposed at a position where a thumb of a hand gripping the reel body along with a fishing rod can reach.
