PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, with which a fishing rod and a reel body can be easily held by one hand, as well as an operation member for adjusting the output of a motor can be skillfully operated by the thumb of the hand, and in addition, which has sufficient holdability during operating the operation member and even when a big load is applied thereto.SOLUTION: An electric reel for fishing includes a spool around which a fishline is wound, a drive motor installed to a reel body 5 and rotatively driving the spool, an operation member 30 for adjusting the output of the drive motor, and a control case 15 in which a control unit for controlling the drive motor is housed.
