The first polarization unit radiates polarized light with a first polarization direction onto a body tissue. The second polarization unit extracts a polarization component having a second polarization direction, which intersects with the first polarization direction, from the reflection light that is the polarized light reflected from the body tissue. The rotation control unit rotates each of the first and second polarization directions to maintain the intersecting angle between the first and second polarization directions.
