PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray optical element that can obtain an X-ray that has a smaller cross-section length and is discretely divided, without performing processing that is hard to be performed due to a high aspect ratio, and to provide an X-ray imaging apparatus with the X-ray optical element.SOLUTION: The X-ray optical element is used, when the X-ray from an X-ray generating means is discretely divided and irradiated to an object to be measured, to radiograph an X-ray phase contrast image. The X-ray optical element includes two or more linear structures whose cross-sectional shape is circular in a short direction perpendicular to a longitudinal one.
