PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic material capable of repairing or preventing hair damages caused by chemical treatment, blow-drying, daily hair-care activities, etc., and imparting good texture to wet and dried hair.SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic material comprises an organic cation salt of a branched fatty acid. The branched fatty acid is preferably a compound of formula (1) (wherein R1 is a methyl group or an ethyl group and p is an integer of 3-36).
