PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion type hair cosmetic excellently applicable to hair and capable of increasing a water content of hair and well setting hair.SOLUTION: The emulsion type hair cosmetic includes: aliphatic alcohol a cationic surfactant sucrose fatty acid ester polyglycerol fatty acid ester and polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester. In the emulsion type hair cosmetic, preferably, a ratio of the total A (mass%) of compounding amounts of the sucrose fatty acid ester and the polyglycerol fatty acid ester to a compounding amount B (mass%) of the polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester is from 1:1 to 8:1.
