PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which can easily shape and re-shape a guide wire end part into a desired shape, and a manufacturing method for the same.SOLUTION: A guide wire 10 has a base part 21 and a core wire 20 provided with an end part 23 smaller in diameter than the base part 21. On a surface S1 seen from one direction side in a circumferential direction of the end part 23 of the core wire 20, a heat denaturation part 50 more strongly heat denatured on a surface S2 seen from the other direction side in the circumferential direction is provided. The heat denaturation part 50 is formed intermittently along an axial direction of the core wire 20.
