Provided is a sugar-coated chewing gum that releases enzymes rapidly upon chewing, dissolves well in the mouth, and has excellent long-term storage stability. The provided sugar-coated chewing gum comprises a chewing gum core coated by at least three sugar-coating layers. The inner layer coating the chewing gum core is a first sugar-coating layer containing gelatin the first sugar-coating layer is coated by a second sugar-coating layer containing gelatin and enzymes and the second sugar-coating layer is in turn coated by a third sugar-coating layer that does not contain enzymes. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the abovementioned sugar-coated chewing gum, said method including: (1) a step for forming the chewing gum core (2) a step for forming the first sugar-coating layer around the chewing gum core, using a sugar-coating layer ingredient that contains gelatin (3) a step for forming the second sugar-coating layer around the first sugar-coating layer, using a sugar-coating layer ingredient that contains gelatin and enzymes and (4) a step for forming the third sugar-coating layer around the second sugar-coating layer, using a sugar-coating layer ingredient that does not contain enzymes.
