The present invention provides a composition for food product, in which the composition comprises an ingredient (A) of alpha crosslinked starch (except for alpha acetyl crosslinked starch, alpha ether crosslinked starch, and alpha acetyl ether crosslinked starch), and an ingredient (B) which is any one or two selected from the group consisting of guar gum and xanthan gum, wherein the amount of the ingredient (A) to the total amount of the composition is 5 mass% or more and 70 mass% or less, and the amount of the ingredient (B) to the total amount of the composition is 10 mass% or more and 40 mass% or less.本發明的組成物係含有:成分(A):α化交聯澱粉(α化乙醯化交聯澱粉、α化醚化交聯澱粉及α化乙醯化醚化交聯澱粉除外)、以及成分(B):從關華豆膠及三仙膠所構成群組中選擇之1種或2種的食品用組成物;其中,成分(A)含有量係相對於組成物全體為5質量%以上且70質量%以下,成分(B)含有量係相對於組成物全體為10質量%以上且40質量%以下。
