To provide a shredding device which can beautifully shred a kelp along a fiber direction with a relatively simpler structure.SOLUTION: A kelp shredding device comprises a pair of cutting blade rollers 9, 11 for shredding on a columnar outer peripheral surface of which a cutting part and a groove part are alternately provided, and shreds a kelp by shear due to mutual meshing of tips of the cutting parts. A cross section of the tip in a direction perpendicular to a rotation axis is chamfered to a concave shape. Preferably, an included angle (α) thereof is set to about 80 to 84°, a blade length (L) is set to about 6 mm, and a blade width (W) is set to about 2 mm. A part that swelled and became bulky as a wave of a kelp (K) can escape between escape spaces 9d, 11d which become large, and does not disturb shear. On the other hand, by a thickness effect due overlapping of the kelp (K), shear can e easily performed. Therefore, beautiful cut surface can be obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8【課題】比較的構造が簡単でありながら、昆布を繊維方向に沿って綺麗に細切りできる細切り装置の提供。【解決手段】円柱状の外周面に刃部と溝部が交互に設けられた細切り用切刃ローラ９、１１を一対備えて、互いの刃部の刃先どうしの噛み合いによるせん断により昆布を細切りする。刃先は回転軸線に対して垂直な方向の断面が中凹状に面取りされている。好ましくは、その挟角（α）が約８０～８４°、刃長（Ｌ）は約６ｍｍ、刃幅（Ｗ）は約２ｍｍに設定する。昆布（Ｋ）の波のようにうねって嵩増しになった部分が、大きくなった逃げ空間９ｄ、１１ｄの間に逃げ込むことができ、せん断の邪魔をしない。その一方で、昆布（Ｋ）を重ねることによる厚み効果により、せん断がし易くなっている。従って、綺麗な切断面が得られる。【選択図】 図８
