The present disclosure describes methods and devices for monitoring a subject's heart using wireless signals. The availability of a portable heart monitor that can be used in the subject's home can increase patient compliance and improve the diagnostic rate of heart conditions. Mobile cardiac monitors can be particularly useful for the elderly, the disabled, or subjects who do not have easy access to the clinic, doctor's office, or hospital. The device includes a) an antenna configured to transmit electromagnetic radiation into a subject's chest cavity, b) a receiver configured to detect an electromagnetic signal reflected from the subject's heart, and c).
