PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation material capable of lightening a nursery bed by utilizing a waste paper without using a soil. SOLUTION: A solution obtained by dissolving a waste paper in water and dewatering the obtained dissolved product is formed into a block in a spheroidal or a square shape to provide the objective plant cultivation material 21. The plant cultivation material 21 can be used as a bed soil of a nursery bed instead of a soil because the plant cultivation material 21 is excellent in air permeability and water-retaining properties. As the result, the plant can be grown by the nursery bed having a lightened weight of the entire nursery bed compared to that obtained by using the soil.
