PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a porous ceramic material with pores passing therethrough so as to orient in one direction, which has excellent bio-compatibility and can swiftly induce the formation of living organism tissue such as bone tissue.
SOLUTION: The method for producing a porous ceramic material comprises: a stage (A) where slurry including water, a ceramic raw material, resorcinol, formaldehyde and an alkali metal carbonate, and in which the ceramic raw material is dispersed is prepared a stage (B) where the slurry is packed into a vessel, thereafter, the vessel is inserted into a refrigerant at a temperature lower than the solidification point of the slurry to a fixed direction, and the slurry is frozen from either edge part side to one direction a stage (C) where the frozen slurry is dried, so as to obtain a molded body and a stage (D) where the dried molded body is fired.
