The invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions, medical preparations, veterinary preparations, and plant protection agents which contain at least one unsaturated fatty acid or a derivative thereof or which contain a vegetable oil. The at least one unsaturated fatty acid or the derivative thereof or the vegetable oil is enriched with oxygen. The invention also relates to a wide variety of products which contain a pharmaceutical composition according to the invention and to a wide variety of applications of the pharmaceutical composition, in particular for treating viral, bacterial, and/or fungal diseases and for reducing inflammation. The invention also relates to the use of the pharmaceutical composition in the treatment of animal diseases, in particular mammalian diseases, in particular diseases of the claws or udders of animals, for example digital dermatitis, and to corresponding methods.
