PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical gripping instrument excellent in operability, capable of firmly ligating a wound.SOLUTION: A gripping instrument includes: a fixed clip 41 a pair of movable clips 42 and 43 whose proximal ends are fixed to both side surfaces of the fixed clip 41, which extend in the opening direction relative to the fixed clip 41 toward the distal end of the fixed clip 41 and which have gripping nails 423 and 433 at the distal ends and a ring member 44 slidably attached from the proximal end side toward the distal end side of the fixed clip 41 in such a way as to press the outside of the pair of the movable clips 42 and 43. The pair of the movable clips 42 and 43 are configured to be closed to the fixed clip side at different timings from each other when the ring member 44 is slid to the distal end side of the fixed clip 41.
