The present invention relates to a composition of active ingredients in the organic solvent extract ofAndrographispaniculatastem, and its pharmaceutical use in lowering blood sugar level.本發明係關於一種穿心蓮(Andrographis paniculata,AP)之有機溶劑萃取物,包括將穿心蓮之乾燥莖之乙醇粗萃取物以乙醇、正己烷、正丁醇與乙酸乙酯等有機溶劑進行萃取、濃縮及乾燥而得。本發明之穿心蓮有機溶劑萃取物包含具有降血糖藥理活性的成分(active ingredient, APai),主要包含230 - 400 mg/g穿心蓮內酯(Andrographolides, A)、50 - 90 mg/g新穿心蓮內酯(Neoandrographolide, NA)及20 - 50 mg/g去氧去氫穿心蓮內酯(14-deoxy-11,12- dehydrogen-andrographolide, DDA),可用於製備降血糖藥物。
