A method of preparing extract of antrodia camphorate for whitening is provided. The method comprises: seeding the liquid of antrodia camphorate strains on the culture medium for a predetermined time to obtain an antrodia camphorate substance the antrodia camphorate substance being treated by temperature-gradients- stimulated growth to obtain an antrodia camphorate fermentation product and extracting the antrodia camphorate fermentation product by a solvent to obtain an extract of antrodia camphorate.
