PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strainer prevented from quality deterioration of fruit paste when straining food raw material such as steamed chestnut or sweet potato into the fruit paste, and also facilitated in removal of residues and cleaning of a machine.SOLUTION: A cylindrical straining drum 1 having a lot of through holes 2 formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof for straining and having opening sides on both ends thereof, and a pressure roller 15 pressed to the outer peripheral surface of the straining drum 1 are rotatably set up in pairs. An elastic body layer 17 comprising an elastic body such as rubber or sponge is formed around the outer periphery of the pressure roller 15. A slot for food raw material is formed above a surface where the straining drum 1 and the pressure roller 15 come in contact to each other. When the food raw material is charged through the slot, the food raw material is strained between the straining drum 1 and the pressure roller 15, fruit paste P is passed through the through hole 2 into the inside of the straining drum 1 to be pushed out. Peel (residue) adheres to the outer peripheral surface of the straining drum 1, and the peel (residue) is scraped with a scraper set up outside the straining drum 1.
