PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light stabilizer useful for pyrethroid-based compounds, and an effective light stabilization method for pyrethroid-based compounds using the same.SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM: Provided is a light stabilizer for pyrethroid-based compounds represented by the following general formula: X-O-CO-Y-CO-O-X (I), where X represents a linear or cyclic saturated hydrocarbon having 5 or more carbon atoms, and Y represents any of phenylene group, vinylene group, ethylene group, and tetramethylene group. In the general formula, Y is preferably a phenylene group or a vinylene group.
