The present invention relates to a preparation method of silkworm extract having higher content of deoxynojirimycin and arginine than a conventional extraction method, and more specifically, to a preparation method of silkworm extract having deoxynojirimycin and arginine, which comprises: a step of drying live silkworms and then grinding and pulverizing the dried silkworms to prepare silkworm powder; a first extraction step of adding 95% ethanol aqueous solution to the silkworm powder to make solvent extraction, filtering the solution to separate precipitate and an extract, and then obtaining the extract to prepare an ethanol extract; a second extraction step of adding water to the precipitate separated in the first extraction step to make solvent extraction, filtering the solution to separate precipitate and an extract, and obtaining the extract to prepare a water extract; and an extract preparing step of mixing the ethanol extract and the water extract. The silkworm extract prepared by the preparation method of the present invention has high content of deoxynojirimycin which was conventionally appreciated to have excellent antidiabetic activity, and also high content of arginine. Accordingly, a large amount of amino acids are determined to be contained; functional ingredients of silkworms will be included at maximum; and extraction time can be minimized to minimize extraction costs and time, thereby improving economic effects of an extraction method.
