The present invention relates to a method for preparing an herbal extract for eliminating harmful components generated by smoking. More particularly, the present invention comprises: a dehydrate formation step of forming a dehydrate by dehydrating Houttuynia cordata, Plantago Formosan, Cuscuta seed, lonicera flower, Solanum nigrum L, green tea, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Aloe barbadensis, Calendula arvensis, and Panax notoginseng; a dehydrate mixing step of providing a mixed dehydrate by mixing the dehydrates formed in the dehydrate formation step; an extraction step of extracting a solution by putting, to a solvent, the mixed dehydrate formed in the dehydrate mixing step and heating the resultant; a filtration step of filtering the solution extracted in the extraction step; a solvent volatilization step of removing the solvent contained in the solution filtered in the filtration step to obtain an extract; a concentration step of concentrating the extract in which the solvent is removed in the solvent volatilization step; and a sterilization step of sterilizing the extract concentrated in the concentration step. The preparation method has an effect of reducing amounts of harmful components accumulated in the body due to smoking such as tar, nicotine, and dioxin. In addition, the preparation method provides an herbal extract which has an excellent antioxidant effect and safety against toxicity for administration by including an herbal ingredient and the sterilization step.
