An artificial insect feed of the invention is a dry powder feed, in percentage by weight, comprising1-50 wt% of gelatinizing agent and 1-90 wt% of powdery foodstuff, for being formed into gelatinous state to use by adding predetermined percentage of water. The powdery foodstuff comprises leaf powder that is ground from at least one type of natural forage. By using viscosity of gelatinizing agent to bond to other contents, an artificial feed with moderate hardness can be formulated with respect to different insects, and therefore insect feeding rate can be increased by the leaf powder. Besides, in the manufacturing process, different leaf powders can be substituted to feed other species of phytophagous insects, equally to increase insect feeding rate.
