An amino acid-containing composition comprising lysine or a salt thereof, methionine or a salt thereof, glutamine or a salt thereof and proline or a salt thereof at the following concentrations and iron, zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin A:lysine or a salt thereof: 0.25 - 75 wt%,methionine or a salt thereof: 0.025 - 75 wt%,glutamine or a salt thereof: 0.25 - 75 wt%,proline or a salt thereof: 0.25 - 75 wt%.The composition can improve malnutrition, acute malnutrition or anemia, particularly acute malnutrition or anemia in infants, by ingestion in combination with grain.
