The invention relates to a brown algae extract characterised in that it comprises less than 50 ppm of iodine and between 5 and 15 %, and preferably between 8 and 10 %, of polyphenols, said percentage of polyphenols being expressed as a chlorogenic acid equivalent in relation to the dry weight of the extract. The invention also relates to an oral absorption composition comprising such an extract, and to a method for preparing the extract according to the invention.La présente invention concerne un extrait d'algues brunes, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte moins de 50 ppm d'iode et entre 5 et 15 %, et de préférence entre 8 et 10% de polyphénols, ledit pourcentage de polyphénols étant exprimé en équivalent acide chlorogénique par rapport au poids sec de l'extrait.
