The invention relates to a brown algae extract containing less than 50 ppm of iodine and between 5 and 15%, and preferably between 8 and 10%, of polyphenols, said percentage of polyphenols being expressed as a chlorogenic acid equivalent in relation to the dry weight of the extract, the invention also relating to an oral absorption composition comprising such an extract, and to a method for preparing the extract according to the invention.La présente invention concerne un extrait d'algues brunes, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte moins de 50 ppm d'iode et entre 5 et 15 %, et de préférence entre 8 et 10% de polyphénols, ledit pourcentage de polyphénols étant exprimé en équivalent acide chlorogénique par rapport au poids sec de l'extrait. La présente invention concerne également une composition d'absorption orale comprenant un tel extrait et un procédé de préparation de l'extrait selon l'invention.
