PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether or not an irradiation position on a target with a charged particle beam is normal and perform restoration in the case of detecting abnormality.SOLUTION: A neutron capture therapy apparatus 1A includes: an accelerator 10 for emitting a charged particle beam P; a target X for generating a neutron beam N using the charged particle beam P; a charged particle beam scan unit 34 for performing a scan with the charged particle beam P at a predetermined cycle along a predetermined orbit to change an irradiation position with the charged particle beam P; an annular current detection unit for detecting a current value of the charged particle beam P; an abnormality detection unit for detecting abnormality with respect to the irradiation position on the basis of a detection result of the current detection unit; and a beam adjustment unit 106 that on the basis of the detection result, performs adjustment of the charged particle beam P at a position closer to the accelerator 10 than the charged particle beam scan unit 34. The abnormality detection unit detects the abnormality with respect to the irradiation position for the target X with the charged particle beam P on the basis of a variation in the current value.
