PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiinflammatory agent having at least any one of excellent cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibition, TNF-&alpha production inhibition, and cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase inhibition, an antiaging agent having any one of excellent collagen type I production promotion, collagen type IV production promotion, elastase activity inhibition, and estrogenic action, and a skin external preparation having at least any one of the antiinflammatory agent and the antiaging agent.
SOLUTION: The antiinflammatory agent, the antiaging agent, and the skin external preparation contain at least one kind of an extract of Bauhinia purpurea, an extract of Bauhinia variegata, and an extract of Bauhinia blakeana.
