PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking assist device capable of improving convenience without using a drive apparatus.SOLUTION: A house includes a walking assist device 40 for assisting a user to walk down steps 36. The walking assist device 40 includes: a support rail 41 arranged in the upper part of the steps 36 and extending in the inclination direction of the steps 36 in a plan view； a mobile body 61 supported by the support rail 41 via rotors and to be moved along the support rail 41 by the rotation of the rotors； and an assist tool 67 supported by suspending by the mobile body 61 via a suspension belt 66 whose suspension length from the mobile body 61 is variable and to be mounted on a user. The support rail 41 is inclined in the opposite direction of the inclination direction of the steps 36. When the mobile body 61 is moved downward in the support rail 41 along the inclination by the gravity, the assist tool 67 can be moved upward along the inclination above the steps 36.
