Provided is a simple method for manufacturing a glass container having high chemical durability without introducing a special processing step or processing equipment. The present invention includes a glass container manufacturing step for molding a glass tube under heating and obtaining a glass container, a cleaning step for cleaning the inside surface of the glass container obtained in the glass container manufacturing step using a cleaning liquid comprising water, an acid aqueous solution, a surfactant aqueous solution, or an aqueous solution of an acid to which a surfactant is added, and a strain removal step for heating and increasing the temperature of the glass container cleaned in the cleaning step and subsequently cooling the glass container to remove strain therefrom, the temperature of the glass container being 30-150°C and the cleaning time being 10-15 seconds in the cleaning step, and the maximum atmospheric temperature in the strain removal step being controlled so as to be 650-670°C.
