The present invention relates to a peptide of general formula (I) R1-(AA)n-X1-X2--Arg-Arg-GIy-X3-X4-(AA)P-R2. The present invention also relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition including at least one peptide of general formula (I) in a physiologically suitable medium. The present invention further relates to the use of a composition containing the peptide of general formula (I) as an active principle activating human transglutaminase in order to reinforce the skin barrier function and stimulate epidermal regeneration and differentiation.
