PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface shape measuring method of a sliding member for a swash plate type compressor with which the degree of retracting of a retracted spherical surface of the sliding member interposed between a swash plate of the swash plate type compressor and a mooring part of a piston can be measured easily and accurately.SOLUTION: A shoe comprises a flat surface which slides in contact with a swash plate of a swash plate type compressor, and a convex spherical surface which is engaged with a concave spherical surface provided in a piston. The convex spherical surface comprises slide contact spherical surfaces that slide in contact with the concave spherical surface, and retracted spherical surfaces that are formed at outer peripheral sides of the slide contact spherical surfaces and retract inside in a radial direction from a virtual spherical surface extending the slide contact spherical surface to the outer peripheral side with the same curvature radius.
