PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an uneven shape on the surface of a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor being a work piece, capable of suppressing problems on appearance, such as film disorder and a drag mark when forming the uneven shape on the surface of the surface layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: A method for transferring an uneven shape on the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises the steps of: (i) contacting the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor with a die member; (ii) pressing the electrophotographic photoreceptor on the die member so that a force received from a die member is a predetermined value on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor; and (iii) transferring the uneven shape of the die member to the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor by the predetermined pressing force. Vy1, Vz1, Vy2 and Vz2 satisfy the following expression. Vz1/Vy1>1>Vz2/Vy2.
