The objective of the present invention is to provide a beverage that quickly replenishes water, carbohydrates, and salt to offset heatstroke, but is also pleasant to drink. It was found that admixing coconut water ameliorated the sliminess, bitterness, and the presence and degree of aftertaste due to the sodium. It was also found that lauric acid, which is a fatty acid abundantly present in coconut water, produces the effect of ameliorating the sliminess, bitterness, etc., due to the sodium. The present invention provides a lauric-acid-containing beverage that can suppress the sliminess, bitterness, etc., due to sodium in a beverage, and can be pleasant to drink.
