A process for the universal, at least partial, veneering of frameworks made of framework materials of dental restorations having a coefficient of thermal expansion CTEframework by means of using a ceramic-based veneer material having a coefficient of thermal expansion CTEveneer, wherein a veneer is prepared by a shaping process from a blank of the respective veneer material to be complementary to the framework, and permanently attached to the framework by adhesive bonding, wherein the difference (ΔCTE) between the coefficient of thermal expansion of the framework material, CTEframework, and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the veneer material, CTEveneer, is outside the range of 0≦ΔCTE<2×10−6 K−1.
