PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of effectively preventing stuffiness and a skin trouble by suppressing transpiration of humor such as menstrual blood during being worn.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 includes: a liquid-permeable surface layer 2 forming a skin-facing surface a liquid-impermeable leakproof layer 3 forming a skin non-facing surface and a liquid-retention liquid absorption layer 40 interposed between both layers 2 and 3. The absorbent article further includes an intermediate layer 10 containing glycerine between the surface layer 2 and the absorption layer 40, and the skin-facing surface side of the surface layer 2 has a recessed/protruding shape. Protrusions 21 constituting the recessed/protruding shape of the surface layer 2 are filled with fibers. Recesses 22 constituting the recessed/protruding shape of the surface layer 2 have high density compared with the protrusions 21 constituting the recessed/protruding shape.
