PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which the absorbent article going to be taken out is hard to be stuck and taken out together with other absorbent articles adjacent to the absorbent article when the folded absorbent articles are taken out of a container one by one, and also a folded state is easy to be maintained.SOLUTION: An absorbent article folded to be expanded of the present invention includes a surface sheet (2) forming a skin facing surface, a back sheet (3) forming a non-skin facing surface and comprising nonwoven fabric, and an absorber (4) positioned between these sheets. The absorbent article is folded at a second virtual straight line in the width direction so that a longitudinal direction first area and a longitudinal direction second area may at least partially be overlapped and faced in the thickness direction after being folded into the surface sheet (2) side at a first virtual straight line in the width direction, and thereby forms an expandably folded state and includes an engagement member (5) in the non-skin facing surface of the position to be overlapped with the longitudinal direction second area in the thickness direction in the longitudinal direction first area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
