PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve beam utilization efficiency more than before after shortening one surface scan time necessary for forming uniform dose distribution in a horizontal direction in a uniform scan of a particle beam.SOLUTION: In a line scan which irradiates continuous beams in an X direction and switches off the beams in a Y direction, a fast scan direction is allocated to the X direction and a slow scan direction is allocated to the Y direction.
