PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for breeding a Daucus plant to obtain it, in such a way that even if the shoulder parts of its root is exposed onto the ground during cultivation, the exposed parts are resistant to discoloration.SOLUTION: The method includes the following process: the step of crossing a Daucus plant specified by Accession No. FERM AP-21824 with a different kind of such a plant to effect the next-generation plants the step of cultivating the next-generation plants so as to expose the shoulder parts of roots thereof onto the ground and the step of breeding the objective Daucus plant with the exposed parts resistant to discoloration even if the shoulder parts of its root is exposed onto the ground during its cultivation characterized in having such a step as to select an individual with slight discoloration of the exposed parts from the next-generation ones after cultivation.
