A handlebar carrier for a power operate tool, or a tool such as a brush cutter having such a carrier. The carrier has a carrier body and handlebar clamp attached to the carrier body. The carrier body attached to the tool. The handlebar clamp movably couples the handlebar to the carrier body. The handlebar is moveable between an operational position and a first non-operational position. A motor kill-switch is located on or with the handlebar carrier and is operable to prevent operation of the motor when the handlebar is moved out of the operational position.
