PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pad type absorbent article which fits excellently to a blood draining port, a perineum or a gluteal cleft, while having a simple structure.SOLUTION: The pad type absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable top sheet, a back sheet and an absorber provided between these. Within a scope in the longitudinal direction from a blood draining port opposing part to a gluteal cleft opposing part, side part darts 10 are formed in both side parts at prescribed positions in the longitudinal direction by the reverse sides in the longitudinal direction of these parts joined to each other, and a portion between the side part darts 10 and 10 is composed as an expanded portion 11 which is expanded to the surface side by the difference in length in the longitudinal direction between the surface and reverse sides.
