The invention relates to an orthotic device for assisting with bending and extending movements of the fingers of a hand, for patients suffering from paralysis of the brachial plexus, said device comprising an opening and closing mechanism used to convert a linear movement (input) into the actual movement of a bent finger (output) a forearm support which, as its name suggests, is used to support the forearm of a user suffering from brachial paralysis, as well as supporting the opening and closing mechanism a sub-assembly for transmitting the bending/extending movement, which is interconnected with the opening and closing mechanism via a first cable, and with a vest fitted to the chest of the user, via the outlet of a second cable and a support for the thumb of the hand, which is secured to the forearm support, and said support is used to keep said thumb immobilised.La presente invención se refiere a un dispositivo ortésico para coadyuvar en los movimientos de flexión y extensión de los dedos de una mano en pacientes con parálisis del plexo braquial, caracterizado porque en términos generales comprende: un mecanismo de apertura y cierre que sirve para transformar un movimiento lineal (entrada) en un movimiento propio de un dedo en flexión (salida) un soporte para antebrazo, que como su nombre lo indica, sirve como apoyo del antebrazo de un usuario que padece parálisis braquial, además de soportar al mecanismo de apertura y cierre un subensamble para transmitir el movimiento de flexión/extensión que se encuentra interconectado por un lado con el mecanismo de apertura y cierre a través de un primer cable y por el otro lado a un chaleco que se encuentra ajustado al pecho del usuario a través de la salida de un segundo cable y, un soporte para el dedo pulgar de la mano, el cual se encuentra fijamente unido al soporte para antebrazo, y dicho soporte sirve para mantener fijo dicho dedo pulgar.
